The Federations talented Chefs and Bartenders heated up the Marriott Resort’s La Cucina Restaurant with an exciting Best Chefs and Bartenders Competition on Wednesday (28th October).
The event which showcased skilled Chefs and Bartenders representing various hotels and restaurants was organized by the St. Kitts and Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association (HTA) and commemorated the Tourism Awareness Month of activities.
Competitors were surprised with mystery baskets containing local produce and given an hour to assess their individual ingredients and come up with a menu centered on the ingredients which were local.
Each chef was given two hours to complete and plate their meal to be presented for judging.
Persons present were treated to an exhilarating competition in which chefs and bartenders rushed to beat the prescribed time while displaying their culinary skills.
Manager of the HTA, Michael Head said that the goals of the event are to, “raise the standards of the Caribbean food excellence and professionalism, to promote camaraderie and education opportunities among chefs and to act as a staging area for development of service and presentation”.

In second place was Steve Hobson hailing from Nevis’ Oualie Beach Resort.
