Sweet 16 Edition of the St.Kitts Music Festival kicks off next Thursday night

The much anticipated sweet 16 Edition of the St.Kitts Music Festival is set to kick off here next Thursday, June 28th at the Warner Park Stadium and end on Saturday, June 30.

The opening night will feature several local acts including Ali Dee out of Nevis; Nicha B; 2011-2012 Soca Monarch, Shakki Starfire and the 2011-2012 Road March Champs, the Grand Masters Band.

The night will also see quite a few regional acts including the Spectrum Band out of St.Thomas; Krosfyah out of Barbados; and Machel Montano Team HD out of Trinidad.

Friday, June 22 will feature Lovindeer, Eric Donaldson, U.K Jazz musician, Courtney Pine; Reggae Band, Morgan Heritage; Reggae and Dancehall artiste, I-Octane, Dancehall artiste, Popcaan and Reggae icon, Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley.

The final night (Saturday) will see local act, Bruce Skerritt & the Liamigua Project; Roberta Flack, R&B star, Omarion and Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter, Toni Braxton who is the final International artiste to be signed up for this year’s festival.

“The past years have been summed up as being sweet, excellent, great, but this year, patrons can expect an awesome production featuring a kaleidoscope of world class performers we shall continue our trend of featuring Grammy award winners, chart topping and multi platinum artistes at a single event,” said the Executive Director of Music Festival, Allister Williams.

He further disclosed that a technical crew responsible for stage sound, lighting and filming arrived in St.Kitts yesterday (Thursday) to transform the venue.

The Executive Director emphasized that the no exit policy still stands and that no unauthorised filming or photography will be allowed on the grounds of the festival.

"I salute the performers, sponsors and donors, contributors and volunteers for their sterling contribution to this experience. We thank them for their support and we look forward to their participation in 2013," he added.

The St Kitts Music Festival has earned the reputation of being the most diversified musical show in the Caribbean by blending rich exciting music with exhilarating performances.

Since the inception of the festival they have had many renowned entertainers performed Center Stage, thus facilitating many successes that mirrored the festival’s main objectives.
